General Laborers for the maintenance of it’s irrigation canal system for the fall season. Requirements include:
• Drivers License with clean driving record
• Basic knowledge of power (i.e. weedeater, pole and chain saws)
• Hand tools (i.e. shovels, picks, rake, and pitchfork)
• Physical ability to perform maintenance work on the canal system
• Willingness to take direction
• Work well with others
• Able to lift 50 lbs

Benefits

Wenatchee Reclamation District offers a comprehensive benefits package to eligible employees through the Washington State Public Employees Benefits Board (PEBB) Program, administered by the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA).

Eligible employees may enroll in a variety of medical, dental, and vision plans, allowing them to select coverage that best meets their individual and family needs. PEBB benefits include access to statewide provider networks and multiple plan options. Dependent coverage may also be available in accordance with PEBB eligibility requirements.

Retirement Benefits

Wenatchee Reclamation District participates in the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS) and provides retirement benefits through the Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS) for eligible employees.

PERS is a defined benefit retirement program that helps employees build long-term financial security through employee and employer contributions. Eligibility, contribution rates, vesting requirements, and retirement benefits are administered by the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems and are subject to applicable state laws and regulations.

Employees may choose from available PERS plan options, depending on eligibility, and can access retirement planning tools, account information, and educational resources through DRS.

Deferred Compensation Plan

In addition to PERS retirement benefits, the District offers eligible employees the opportunity to participate in a voluntary Deferred Compensation Plan (457(b)) administered by an independent third-party provider.

This tax-advantaged retirement savings program allows employees to contribute through convenient payroll deductions to supplement their retirement income. Depending on plan provisions, employees may elect either traditional pre-tax contributions, Roth after-tax contributions, or a combination of both. Participants may select from available investment options offered through the plan and manage their contributions in accordance with plan guidelines and IRS regulations.

Participation in the Deferred Compensation Plan is voluntary. Contribution limits, investment options, and distribution provisions are subject to the terms of the plan and applicable federal regulations.

The District recognizes and values employee dedication and long-term service. Eligible employees shall receive longevity pay based on their completed years of continuous service with the District. Longevity pay is intended to reward employee commitment and retention and will be provided in accordance with the schedule outlined below.

Longevity pay is separate from and in addition to any cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs) or other compensation adjustments approved by the Board of Directors. Longevity increases become effective on the employee’s anniversary date and are subject to applicable payroll deductions and District policies.

Longevity Schedule

District-Paid Life & AD&D Insurance

The District provides eligible employees with life insurance coverage at no cost. Employees receive $35,000 in Term Life Insurance and $5,000 in Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage, providing added financial protection and peace of mind for their families. Benefits are payable to the employee’s designated beneficiary and coverage remains in effect during employment with the District. Employees may have the option to convert coverage to an individual policy upon separation, subject to provider requirements.

Optional Supplemental Life Insurance

Employees and their spouses may enroll in additional Group Life Insurance through employee-paid premiums. This supplemental coverage is portable, allowing employees to retain their policy even after leaving District employment. Enrollment is available during the District’s annual open enrollment period.

Paid Holidays

The District provides paid holidays to eligible employees in recognition of federal holidays and to support employee work-life balance. Holiday pay is based on an eight (8) hour workday and is provided according to the holiday schedule listed below.

Holidays must be observed on the designated date for the applicable calendar year and do not carry forward if unused. When a holiday falls on a Saturday, it will be observed on the preceding Friday. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, it will be observed on the following Monday.

The District also provides one (1) Personal Leave Day each calendar year. Employees become eligible to use their Personal Leave Day after completing six (6) months. Personal Leave Days must be used in the year earned, do not carry over to subsequent years, and have no cash-out value. Employees hired on or after July 1 shall receive a four (4) hour Personal Leave Day during their first year of employment.

Vacation Leave

The District recognizes the importance of providing employees with opportunities for rest and personal time away from work. Eligible regular full-time employees accrue vacation leave based on their completed years of service with the District in accordance with the schedule outlined below.

  • Vacation accrual begins on the date of hire
  • Employees may begin using accrued vacation after six (6) months of employment
  • Starting accrual of 96 hours (12 days) per year
  • Vacation accrual increases with years of service, up to 176 hours (22 days) annually
