Canal Treatment Weed Control
WASHINGTON DEPARTMENT OF ECOLOGY GENERAL PERMIT
Wenatchee Reclamation District and Chelan County Public Utility District are seeking coverage under the Washington Department of Ecology’s NPDES General Permit No. WAG0991000 for Aquatic Weed Control in Irrigation Systems that flow to natural surface waters of the state.
The Wenatchee Reclamation District/Chelan County Public Utility District system is located in Chelan and Douglas counties and serves irrigation water users within a 34-mile area. The chemical proposed for use is copper sulfate to control vegetation growth during the period from April through October. The treatment site is located at latitude 120°33’47.87”W Longitude 47°32’41.57”N. The receiving water will be the lower Wenatchee River and the Columbia River.
